I am not confident about what this means, but my understanding based on what I have read is that this pertains to whether you are in employment with your principal on May 1st , 2011, that is to say, even if you leave their employment for your exams and then rejoin and complete articles after the attempt, it is allowed, whereas earlier you were required to be in their employment and ON LEAVE for exams. However, this is applicable only for 1st Final attempt, so for 2nd or 3rd attempt you have to either be IN SERVICE BUT ON LEAVE or you should have completed articles. Howver, as I understand it, the requirement of completing 2.5/3 yrs (as the case may be) of articles before such exam continues. Please correct me if I am wrong.
