Perfectionism......

A few years ago, my aunt showed me how to sew a hem. Her stitches were small
and regular, and she was fast and precise. My stitches and technique were quite
the opposite. I started to complain about how bad I was doing. But my aunt
answered: “Who do you think you are? Do you think that you can sew a perfect
hem the first time you try? It took me years of practice to be this good. Are you a
superhuman? Don’t be so proud!”

Perfection, what we strive for (perfect body, perfect behaviour, perfect job, etc.), is an impossible quest. Instead of trying to be perfect, let’s try to be a little bit better. It’s more human, more achievable. A little bit plus a little bit goes a long way, and before you know it, you have reached the stars.
