I am giving Final exams "First group" this Nov,12. Due to some personal reasons i could not be able to prepare for the exams.
I require your help regarding..:
-what approach should i adopt now in these last days..?
-what books should i read now..??
-are there any last minute revision notes on the CAClub site.. if so can u please send me the link..??
-any other suggestions from your good side..
PLEASE HELP..!!!

ALAS! there is no short cut for CA..all i can suggest you is study from practise manual only since its too late to refer any book now

Thanks Pooja.. However i never preferred any short cuts.. Since i could not study before hand, all i requested is the better approach to study in these last few days..

U should start with law do munish bhandari handbook for 3 days
SFM (from practice mannual) for 3 days
Audit (Practice mannual or Surbhi bansal book) for 3 days
Adv. Accounting form MP vijaykumar for last 4 days
AS for 1 day

Hi Namrata, Check out the Audit File uploaded by CA Ashish Goyal... It is really helpful, short and concise.. You will find it in the recent files section.. if you dont find let me know.. i will send u a link.. i am studyin dat right now...
For Accounts : - Concentrate more on Accounting Standards and Misc topics like Human resource,Economic value added,Value added and Share based payments and valuation of shares,goodwill,business and have an idea about consolidation ,amalagamation and re construction
For SFM : Concentrate more on theroy from past exams,Dividend Policy,Mergeres And Acqusitions,Portfolio and forex,capital budeting
For Auditing : More and more concentration on Professional etichs and Standards on Auditing SA 240, 315, 330, 500 & 501, 620, 580, 299, 520, 530, 570, 560, 540, 510, 710, 505, 700, 705, 720, 800 Series, SRS 4410, 4400, SRE 2400 & 2410, SAE 3400,company audit,Insurance and bank audits,Tax audit
For Law : Concentrate more on Corporate Law :-Directors,Intercorporate loans and adv,winding up,producer companies And for alled laws:- Banking Act,FEMA,Interpretaion of statue,Compitetion Act.

Do go through the Practice manual issued by the ICAI especially for Law. Go through all the case Law form Munish Bhandari as most of the case laws keeps repeating in the exams.

Hi since you are giving your first group the key is just relax and dont get tense . stay cool.
- if you have any lecture notes from any classes you have attended , now would be the best time to use them
- for financial reporting find out and study how to approach the variety of problems in consolidation of financial statements, learn the important entries for internal reconstr. ,buyback of shares , amalgamation-in the case of intra holdings between subsidiary and parent company, make sure you study the E.V.A , Human resource accounting etc., also give importance to AS 30,31,32...not to forget - valuation of goodwill and shares.
- SFM- try understanding the basic logic , refer how each type of problem is done , try solving a few of them , it would be best to use class notes , understand and learn the formulaes.
- Auditing - study the compilation- all the AAS's and professional ethics
- Law - i had attended Jayaram sirs class , so it was quite helpfull , anyways go through the provisions given in the act and refer the suggested answers
