I got the notice u/s 139(9) for A.Y. 2016-17. due to some reason i could not be able to file the response of defective return and now when i'm going to efile- response to defective returns its showing no records found and the status of return is invalidated. please guide how should i rectify it now as its a refund case

If you are not respond the defective returns then it's fall under Invalid return...
Now, You will file a New ITR as Belated return u/s 139(4)
