The Concessional central excise duty rate of 4% is being increased to 5% and thus all goods

currently attracting 4% duty will now attract 5% unless otherwise specified

Please find enclodsed here with Teriff Notification Excise containing the details of 130 items on Which duty is impossed.

Duty of 1% is impossed in respect of which credit of duty on inputs or tax on input services has been taken under the provisions of the CENVAT Credit Rules, 2004.

Please go to www. cbec.gov.in then go to budget 2011-12. Then see the central notification no 1/2011 - CE dated 01.03.2011 and also 2.2011- CE dated 01.03. 2011 and also see 4/2011 - CE dated 01.03.2011. All your querries willbe met.

Dear Sir,

My business is in coal & Coke line where I Pearl Coke made from Hard Coke ( conversion work) . Now what is the impact of Excise in this business and why ? Am I liable for paid / collect excise duty.
