Hi friends,
After investing 4 to 5 years (18 to 22 ) most important years to become a CA, not even 20% of qualified Chartered accountants getting jobs at campus, is CA total waste of time? (these days).

There is no reason to say it is total waste....but yes, I do agree the placement percentage has been on the lower side, this is beacuse of the selection criteria most of the employers are using....
Number of attempts has became the primary condition for shortlisting, which I feel is not correct as far as students are concerned. There are tons of meritorious students who cannot clear in their first or second attempts, for only this category injustice has been happening. But we cannot do anything regarding that.
Many have secured excellent job opportunities in Campus. So, let us feel happy atleast for them....There are many jobs even through off campus, definitely you will secure best one amongst them...cheers

This is not just with my case, but the HORRIBLE CURRENT SCENARIO, I have a lot of rescept to ICAI,but have to accept the fact that even tier 2 MBA colleges were&are able to bring lot of companies to campus.ONLYY 12 companies at ICAI Chennai campus ( Name of six companies unheard of ).

Even after 5-6 years of experience we are asked our number of attempts for job change. CA doesnt work as brand name like MBA colleges

Hi Adithya,
Personally, profile dosent matter anything to the Campus selectors. They randomly pick some candidates who are first attempt and few candidates from second attempt. I have been a rankholder in my CPT, passed PCC and Final in first attempt and also cleared CS in first attempt, but i couldnt get a job in the same Chennai campus even though there were almost 20 companies who came for the recruitment,Even i felt the same way as you felt, but believe me, the doors are not closed. A lot of good and better companies recruit thorugh off placement programs. Please try using private placement webistes, also give your resumes to your seniors and other referrals, you will definitely get it. May be you may feel a bit dejected because after all the hardwork, you have to struggle to get jobs , but end of the day, you are a CA. no one can snatch that title from you. Good luck for your future and god bless you.
Regards
Bharath.

recently ICAI organised career Ascent (campus placement drive) for experienced CA, we expected that those who did not got placed immediately after qualifying CA will got a golden chance of placement. But it is shameful that only 1 company came for entire kolkata zone, that too laid condition that only CA having certain year of experience as a credit manager in bank only entitle to apply.

Shortlisting candidates on the basis of attempts is not the correct criteria. Many have struggled and have come out with colors... They know the lot of pain that is involved and also possess the lot of patience. So I dont think this is the right way to short list the candidates.Attempts dont matter.. Its all the experience and also the eagerness and willingess to the do the task is important.

CA is total waste of time , reson its more supply of CAs than Demand, i had seen thousands of CA final Students who is trying to pass CA final from last 5 years.. If you want to do Suicide and your family member does not allow to do, you have one option and that is joining CA Course.. waste your important years in trying to pass CA..
