believe me .. i am not joking . tds provisions will not be applicable. there are reasons however i would not like to disclose them since they are my Discovery..

yes it will be taxed under other sources income-30% tax should be deducted from the income earned.

yes, it is covered by u/s 194b , doesn't matter whatever show it is
further amount exceedind rs. 5000 then it is deductible otherwise it will not be deducted

Dear Halim,
A quiz on TV is regarded as a game show as per the income tax act. You can see the explanation in section 2(24) of the act.
Please do not take the stance - that it is an application of skill, knowledge and talent - and hence PGBP.
It is not entirely so. It is depending on chance element too bhai - if you get a question to which you know the answer, you win. Does nt matter hw much else you know. Just like CA exam....
And like in a good article posted few days back, what is luck - the meeting of preparation with opportunity!
