Whether there is a liability of VAT in income from job work ?

No there is not VAT, but under provision of VAT there is WCT (Works Contract Tax), it may be applicable
If a company has manufacturing unit in chandigarh and it purchase raw material from punjab (Mohali)and directly (supplier factory)send to job work in punjab (Mohali). The supplier will charge VAT. Now whether company when sale it from chandigarh then it will take the credit of VAT paid or Refund it.

Dear Goyal,
Pl check from mohali to chandigarh cst applicable or VAT applicable( this is becuase i think chandigarh is seoarate Union territory)
if vat is applicable you can always claim ITC
