Depends on what profile you are in.
If the profile is good enough, why not?

BPO can never be good option for CA's. BPO sector is a source of exploitation of CA degree. I will suggest you not to ruin your career just for a good salary.

No BPO is not a good option for CA's if u look at the long term scenario. In bpo they need people expert in excel and therfore person doen not learn anything and in case he want to change in future then he will be at zero level of learning related to CA profile and its just a watsge of the highly esteemed degree like CA. Also BPO run till late in night ruining one's personal & social life. Work pressure is alos more in BPO. Its is for non professional persons like B.Com. etc to earn above there capacity by sitting late. The salary offered by BPO is equal to salry offered by any industry to CA. then y to opt for BPO boss just go for a CA firm or Industry. Don't spoil u future.

There are many CAs who have moved from KPOs and BPOs to the core industry.
If you are there in accounts and taxation, why not take it up...depends upon what you are working upon!!!

Then what do you all think, even if you are CA are you substantially outperforming anyone?
If you closely have a look there are few Bcom graduates who are very intelligent and just for the lack of degree are at lower positions...
Even a CFO of a BPO needs to be a CA though its a BPO, its the work that matters not the industry...
Even if you are in Big companies, like nowadays, they hire CA sfor making Purchase Invoices, don't you think you do the clerical work there?

BPO is definetely not a good option for CA's who want to flourish.
However, if yoou are selected for the Finance Team of a BPO company that will be a good option.
But never ever get into core processes in BPO where in your work profile involves reporting to some one in US/UK etc.,
You can take the job untill your work profile moves in Finance department.
You can spot soo many CA's working for BPO processes who cannot calculate income tax on their own personal income, confused about the basic entries to be passed.

Mr. Varun
If you are trying for a job abroad/ good pay packet within a short span and willing to work in shifts BPO is an option.
But once you enter into BPO line, it will be difficult for you to come back to accounts / finance line.
Your knowledge in taxes is not useful for BPO job. After certain age, you may be looking for a change of line, but it may be difficult at that point in time. Sales tax, excise, customs, Income Tax will be out of touch.
More over most of theBPOs in India are dependent on US. If Mr. Barak Obama wins President, out sourcing will be cut short. You know how turbulant is the US economy these days. Better not to go for BPO job now.
First of all you get into a good manufacturing company ( MNC or Indian) have a good exposure and then try for BPO. If you want to come out of BPO your manfg. company experience will be of great help in finding a new job.
All the very best.

Your are absolutely correct. For a BPO job, you need not waste your time and get through CA. CA is such a qualification which makes any one "ONE IN MILLION"
Any one should be after knowledge not money.
If u r good at your subject, money follows.
