Firstly, the person made a mistake himself.
It will be "How are u placed today", instead of "how u r placed 2day".
Secondly its as simple as the fact that he wants to ask, "how are you doing today" / "how has your day been"...just a formal way to start the talk. Its not always necessary that the bosses are adept in english. So got to go with the flow....Just say, I am doing well/ I am fine, Thank You...
Jaydip H. Trivedi : That question asks for your present designation and the company in which your are woking.
If that was the case, then the person wudnt hv asked how are u placed TODAY.
Rajesh Kumar : i think He/She meant where are you working.
or where do you stay.. Again, staying somewhr or working somewhr ISN't abt TODAY... If that was the case, then he'd hav asked, Where are u presently employed? Whats ur job profile...
nikhita: placed which means where r u from? today means date He doesnt need to knw the date from the Candidate & He knows very well, what place the candidate belongs to........from her CV.

I think that this question - ""How are you placed Today? can be interpreted differently. I see that this is a grey area. The interviewer may have a completely different thing in my mind than what all of us have discussed here.
I think you should have asked the interviewer himself. You should have asked him in what sense he wants to know how you are placed.
