i have a refund cheque which is come from income tax dept but with wrong account no. so what can i do with this? plz reply its urgent?
The bank account details in income-tax refunds are usually the same as those mentioned by you in the return of your income. If the income-tax office (ITO) has provided incorrect account details, you can resolve the matter by visiting your ITO personally with the copies of the acknowledgement of your return and the bank statement with the account details. However, if you filled in the wrong account number, the income-tax officer, in addition to the above documents, will also demand a letter of indemnity before making the endorsement. In either case, the ITO will endorse the correct account detail on the cheque.

But friends, I already send the cheque and supporting letter to SBI of income tax mumbai, and they said to me that you have to again give the certificate and return copy with supporting document to the officer of income tax. But the problem is that i lost my original tds certificate. What can i do now?

Dear Manish,
>>>>>> If u can obtain a duplicate copy from the deductor then nothing like it...
>>>>>> In case PAN of the assessee is registered then the status of TDS can be looked in the system as well, I mean there is a portal, u can try giving a printout of that page as a proof
>>>>>>Lastly, I feel u have to go personally & give a letter of Indemnity..

You personally meet the Assessing Officer and explain him everything.....
