Income tax notice received

Income tax notice received that return for AY 13-14 not filed

income tax department says following information in their record :

CIB 410 deposit in cash aggregating rs. 200000 or more with banking company

tds-194D tds return - insurance commission

but the person who got this notice, he was rather entitled to refund for Previous Year 12-13.

he didnt know about the refund . he felt that coz there is no tax no return needs to b filed.

but now notice at door.

what to do friends now?

instead of refund he got notice !

time to file belated return claiming refund has also expired now.

It seems that you have received the notice u/s 142(1) So now you have to file the return in response to the notice The time limit for the return will not apply in this case.

You will have to reply for this notice by log in to incometax portal and then go to compliance module there. You will there have to answer that whether u have filed the ITR or not and if not then the reason of not filing. If your return was skipped to be filed because of any reason then u should first file the belated return u/s 139(4) by paying the penalty of Rs.5000/- and then reply the notice in compliance module by logging to incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in

Since your friend/client fails to file return of income within time limit provided under section 139(1), in that case you are getting notice under section 142(1(I) for not filling of return of income within time limit under section 139(1).

Therefore, it is advisable to you to file a return of income by considering all incomes mentioned in AS26 for that assessment year and for cash deposit in excess of 2,00,000/- you need to prepare a memorandum statement of account by mentioning source of such cash receipt and required to be submit to the Assessing officer on demand.

That is just notice asking details to submit compliance in online login into website and submit the compliance ... And filing of return date is also completed and in that notice it will not ask to file return it will tell to submit the details to the respective office and a compliance in online mode look at 26AS also once if any details

It's not a notice for callyou information u/s 142 1 jus chill and reply by logging in your account. Where you need to provide the reason for not filling and also the you can't file belated return for more than 2 years..
