U study T.G.Suresh Book which is easy understandable....
First alwa see any txt book as txt book don think it as burden n complex.. Then with +ve mind first see d sections contains n wat does it deal wit n wat exactly it wwant to conveyy.. such as sec 30-37 is allowable expenditure n sec 40a, A and all is disallowances..,.
then go thru all provisions n simulta write impor points also(for ur quick revision during exam),,, always think that why cant u do wen all r doin well.. increase ur confidence level.. n the most imp thing is that u need to discuss wat u studied with ur friends which help u 2 remem d provisins n sections well..
so best of luck yaar. even i am goin to write on nov(pcc)..

Mainly your fundamentals shall be clear...with references to different section study the ACt as a whole

Other then above, I think there must be good presentation of answers. In income tax paper, presentation of answers is one of the key points which decides your result. In answering the practical questions, give the answer in Statement format, mentioning the name of assessee and assessment year as given in question at the top of the statement. Support that statement with Footnotes and explanations. Mention as much section numbers and case laws as possible. But remember, don't quote wrong section number. It may result in zero marking of your answer. If you are not sure, then dont mention the section number. In theoretical answers too, dont go very lengthy, just give to the point answers with references of various sections and examples
