My father received a notice from Income Tax Department regarding depositing of more that Rs 1000000/- in saving account during the year.We draft a detail reply for submiission and submit that to inspector of income tax .But after that submission said inspector raised some query we clerify all query that given amount is credited in bank by cheque and after that we close that salary account and open a new account and tranfer that money in another saving account , but Income tax officer demanding proof of said transaction, all are transaction belonging to the F.Y. 08-09, we contact with said bank but bank is unable to produced any details about that transaction or cheque , in this sense what we have to do please suggest , my father retired salary person , hi donโ€™t have any other income from any source , please suggest some view about that is salarired perosn required to maintain books of account and details of transaction , what we do under ther rules and regulation of income tax departmnent pls suggest

There is no reason why bank should refuse to cooperate if the accounts and transaction relates to your family and members are present. May be meet the branch manager and explain the situation why you need proof. Also you all must be having cheque book entry and Passbook, these will also help.

We dont have passbook and any record........at this condition what should we do.
