03 November 2008Hi Guys its Match DAY 2 into the Finals this time
Accounts for me was a tough nut - Consolidation screwed me up and theory was a mess. The easy qtn quota for valuation was not there and paper was impossible to solve in 3 Hrs
MAFA was much better - though the first qtn on capital budgetting plus relevant cost took a lot of time the paper was balanced . But needed minimum 3 hrs to slove it

The thing is u r in CA final
So u should not forget this. The exams will be like this only. be cool and concentrate on the exams

Hi, Renjith. yes, mafa was much better than A/cs. Even I thought cap. budjeting problem was a mind bender & lenghty. but MAFA paper was like a consolation 4 those who did a/cs badly.

For me MAFA was also bad.Cudn do Cap Bud,Mergers 1/2 way through,Lost LC Osaka,Forgt to take tax effect on Lease Rents..Did the rest.How u feel?Will I get 40?

Riya, don't worry. Even I couldn't complete the paper. but I think it was definately better than accounts. isn't it? Its difficult to predict marks, coz most of the times it goes against our expectations.
who knows? u may get more marks. let's hope 4 the best
riya my performance was exactly what u have quoted.. but for me accounts paper was better than mafa...i hope to get more marks in accounts than in mafa.. now my only concern is not clear mafa with just 40 marks so that i can clear off group one... but i am not at all able to predict my marks...thats the only confusion... hope for the best

Dont worry for waht u have done in accounts,,,, just concentrate on the coming exams and make sure u r able to avoid the mistakes of this of ur exam in the coming xams....

my opion is also the same.. i feel guilty for my perfo... for i cud problems...but cudnt remeember anthing in Int.finance... i diin know how did that happen.... from day 1 i have been reckless litle bit over the chapter... but confidnt over rest all...
but accidentally... lots of theory ummming upto 24 marks .....+2 int.finance prob proved to be disastrous

Riya , Dont worry at all The tax-effect is only a single error. As per the valuation guidelines of the institute if one error leads to chain errors due to the wrong result the credit only for that error shall be deducted that means u will get the ful marks for the rest of the qtn.
Also if u have done thoery qtns and other qtns even 50 plus is well within your reach. Hw was auditing today ? and all the best for Comp Law

Guys Hw was auditing today
I was not able to give specific answers to few qtns. The CA took loan brings disrepute to profession right...? and the does london stock exchange makes a company listed ? Is there anything wrong in a company being extra conservative and credit grants to cap res? and so on
Otherwise the paper was ok and time was sufficient
The audit paper was too general.. specific answers was not possible in some questions. it was ok.. as i managed to answer to a reasonable extent... but we can never predict the marks in ca exam if we expect good marks the result wil turn upside down.. so better not expect anything.. I did my best and GOD will take care of the rest..
