14 July 2018I am hearing that one has to not refer Form 16 and fill salary but all 12 salary slips and calculate all different allowances taxable and exempt and then fill Schedule Salary of ITR2?
Is this true?
If allowances are not shown separately by employer on Form 16 then assessee has to determine allowances?
Very confusing.
Please guide properly.

salary must be as per form 16 part b
and even whole return should be . . .

if there is mismatch between form 16 and itr
so in future notice will be sure

yes even in itr 1 salary breakup is manadatory now.

How to determine those all different allowances and incentive paid by employer?
If employer did not mention the breakup how will employee calculate breakup?
There is the main Form 16 which is 3 pages.
There is another Form at the end where 7 different heads and amount are mentioned.
Where will you fit those 7 amounts in ITR1 or ITR2 separate rows?
