Those who have 2 groups left in PE-2 must switch. Those who have 1 group pending must remember that Final Attempt will get postponed by 6 months more if you switch. And if your Group 1 is pending, you will have to clear Group 1 in May, to start articles, and you will need to appear in one more Accounts IPCC paper at some point, before becoming Final student. So beware.

I have to clear Group 2 only, so will it be beneficial if I switch over from PE-II to IPCC for May 2010 Attempt. Pl suggest. Does it affect my CA Final Attempt if I switch over. If yes then which attempt for CA Final will i be eligible for.
Please advise.

Hi sneha , how are you :) as u said u have u have completed Gr-2 in PE2. me too the same case now coming to the point ... if you convert to IPCC u will be given exemption under Unit scheme ... and u need to pass the folloing exams
Group 1
paper1: accounts - 1
paper2: Law
Group 2
Paper 4 : Accounts -2
Paper 5 : Auditing
let me explan u this with a example
example :
if a candidate gets
Costing - 40
income tax - 40
Info tech - 70
Total = 150 - pass in CA PE-II Gr2 ; GR-1 is still pending to clear
Now he converts to IPCC ....
Gr1 - Accounts - 1 , LAW , Cosing , Tax
that means he has to score min 200 to pass IPCC Gr1
so if costing & tax are exempted under Unit scheme the he has to score (200-40-40 = 120 marks ) to get IPCC Gr1 cleared , Avg 60 marks in each paper ( Accounts -1 , Law )
He can start aricalship !!
Similarly for GR2 IPCC
accounts-2 , Audit , Infotech
Min marks to pass 150
so to clear GR2 IPCC he needs to score 150-70= 80 marks
i.e 40 marks in each paper--- Accounts-2 , Audit
now put your marks in Gr-2 Pe2 n above exam and see if its ok to convert to IPCC ...
one more thing if ur average in Gr1 IPCC per subject is more than 55 marks then think about it my friend ... do u think its posible
I feel its better to give a fullto hardcore attempt this may10 afterwards anyway we dont have a choice what say ???
please feel free to PM me friends

Hi Sree, I think she said she has Group 2 is left, not cleared. Have messaged her in this regard, but let me mention again:
1. PE-2 Grp 2 results have been consistently lower than group 1.
2. IPCC pass % may be higher than PE2, but they are NOT as high as PCC. Don't have exact figures, but even groupwise has beeen somewhere between 12-14 %. Just confirm.
And as Sree explained, transfer your PE-2 group 1 results into the IPCC scheme and see how much is pending to score in each IPCC group. If it is too high, may not be such a good idea to switch.
