03 August 2024I have submitted my income tax return and it is processed as defective return with notice 139(9).
I have submitted the response by disagreeing with the defective return notice 139(9).
There has been no response since I submitted my response.
What happens next?
Should I do anything other than this?
Kindly guide me in this please.

As per the rule, your return will become invalid.

I could not file the revised return.In last step of e-verification,It does not allow me to proceed.Is this because I disagreed with the defective notice?

Yes, revised return can be filed only if original return is rectified first.
