There's no point in that.. because if you don't pay your taxes.. eventually people with guns will show up at your doorstep and grab that money from you.

How many cases have we found where an income tax officer on raid has been attacked or assaulted by an assessee ?
None. So why a gun is required?
Income tax officer at your doorstep is scary enough.

Every law enforcement agency, including ED and CBI, is assisted by local police to conduct raids. Police is the authorised agency to use arms in civilian area, even army cannot do so without orders from DM\SP. Also indian laws take special care not to give guns in too many hands, which can disturb internal peace within the country.
That is why Income tax officers do not have guns as they are not allowed and dont need them too.
Just an FYI,custom officers do get guns.

Guns are not for everyone, but if officers had guns people would respect them more and it might be a good thing. I really love guns and rifles. I go hunting whenever I have the time to do so and it is my favorite thing. Recently I have bought a new scope for myself from this website https://www.atncorp.com/smart-hd-weapon-sight They have the best scopes I have ever seen. My model is ATN X-Sight 4K BuckHunter 3-14x and I have become much better hunter with it. It can take a Full HD video od what it sees and I like showing those videos to my friends when i go back home.

I don’t think Income Tax officers need guns. It is kind of absurd. As Joey Tribbiani said not even the army can use guns without orders from DM/SP. If everyone was authorized to use guns, it would lead to chaos. I have never heard a story about a tax officer being assaulted. So what is even the point in giving them guns? My brother is a huge gun nut. He loves his rifle to death. He bought a magpul rifle bipod for it off of Facebook. Well, it turned out to be faulty and he harmed his dog when the bipod leg slipped up. Not only should you not buy guns on social media, I believe you don’t need guns in the first place.

I don't think it's really necessary to supply guns so easily. It is a dangerous weapon. stickman fighter

I think that officer must have been transferred from CBI who forgot to handover gun during switchover. Haha.
