Yes, registration in each and every state for branch office will be required independently, & they will be allotted different GST no., even for same PAN.

Even the stock transfer to branches (if situated in different state) would attract GST.

Whether to have branch offices in light of the game changing law is the question to be answered. If branches set up to take advantage of not paying CST- then they are not required. Transportaiton time alos wouldbe less under GST due to checkposts maybe dismantled for VAT/ CST. Only a check number is sufficient for movement.
If you have a place with resources and equipment then it would need registration unless the facility of centralised registration is provided for some service providers.
