09 December 2008Is it compulsory on part of the employer through e-TDS Returns to inform the Income Tax Department about the employees whose Gross salary in a year exceeds the threshold limit for tax calculation, but their net taxable income falls below the threshold limit for tax calculation after allowing the Deduction Under Chapter VI-A & other deductions ???

No, it is not required to inform the income tax department about this matter.

no this is not mandatory to inform about tds to income tax department . department can easily find the TDS with the help of TAN NO. OF EMPLOYER.

Pls. refer section 192 in any book (taxmann's) the clear word is the person resposible for making payment should also take into consideration amt deductible u\s 80c,ccc,ccd,d,dd,e,gg and 80u
