It will be 2% w.e.f. 01-06-2008. Notification will be available very soon.

go to www.pib there the press release of govt of india menu click on the choice cst reduced to 2% and take a printout. this seems to be genuine information which we can rely on.

or When should we charge CST @ 2% against form "C"?

go to www.tnvat.gov.in

and see what's new;

you will get the notification for charging 2% with effect from 1.06.08. take a printout and keep
