Mr. Balaji,
In this case sec 64 will be applicable.
It states that income of minor child will be clubbed with the parent whose total income is higher.
Here in this case,
Assuming daughter of Mr. X is a minor, she does not suffer from any disability of the nature specified u/s 80 U.
Interest received on FD invested in daughters name will be clubbed with that of Mr. X, as it is not earned by her from her manual work or any activity involving her skill, talent or specialised knowledge and experience.
Therefore it falls u/s 64 and hence, it will be clubbed with income of Mr. X.
