80D allows a deduction for the payment made towards mediclaim insurance premium.. (paid by other than cash)
Insurers in addtion to basic premium amount also charge Service tax... Whether deduction is available on such service tax part also.... Kindly clarify...

exemption will be available for full amt including service tax as shown in receipt/.

Dear Vivek,
I disagree with friend Pramod, the amount of service tax is not eligible for deduction...
Only the amount of premium will be eligible for deduction.......

ONLY AMOUNT PAID FOR PREMIUM WILL BE TAKEN FOR EXEMPTION, SERVICE TAX AMT WILL NOT BE INCLUDE IN THIS...

The whole amount will be available for deduction..
