One of the condition for claiming HRA deduction is that "Rent should be actually paid".

If I own a house in my name and I am receiving rent for it.

Still can I claim the HRA living in my Mothers house?

Refer below link for ur querry & other info. related to HRA.

If you stay in your mother's house and the house is in your mother's name you can claim HRA exemption if you can prove that you have actually paid rent to your mother.

If you own a house and receive rent for it you can still claim exemption provided you have actually paid rent to your mother.

u can claim exemption under80GG but no house shall be registered in ur name in the city in which u r residing

u can show that u r paying rent to ur mother
