Can cenvat credit could be claimed based on the invoice given by a trader on the excise duty paid by him. Should invoice provided, contain the CE registration no & the range.

Trader has to get registered with CE as a dealer for passing on the benefit and has to submit the quarterly return. Or the trader can work on the bill and pass the same to the consignee.

AS PER CENTRAL EXCISE RULE, MADATORY PROVIDE OF CENTRAL EXCISE NUMBER AND RANGE IN CENTRAL EXCISE INVOICE .
CENVAT CREDIT CLAIMED BASED ON INVOICE GIVEN BY TRADER . INVOICE IS MAIN EVEDENCE FOR CENVAT CREDIT BENEFIT TAKEN AS PER RULE.

Only FSD & SSD DEALERS CAN PASS CREDIT OF DUTY ON THE BASIS OF INVOICE ISSUE UNDER RULE-11 OF CENTRAL EXCISE RULE 2002.
