C.A is not at par with Graduation & Post Graduation. I think Our Profession is more eminent than other as far as my concern & view

@ saumil....how does ICAI confuse u sir??...CA is so much more than a graduation degree...n nobody requires 2 pass bcom 2 become a CA...

btw....it might not b postgrad..but it is considered equivalent 2 a postgrad...as in u can do a phd right after CA...tok 2 ne CA student...he'll b able 2 tell u everythng in detail face 2 face..

hi soumil....i hv gone through most of d replies..but i have posted my reply on the basis of my interaction with an high-ranking official in ICAI when i was choosing CA as a career...in fact...if u read the prospectus u'll c that its written that a CA is eligible to do a PhD...which means that it is considered an equivalent to post grad...so u r rite...if u dont do yr grads but pass the finals...u can easily do a PhD...

personally i did not want 2 take up grad...but m doin it frm corresspondence just coz of family pressure...CA is more than enough...that's the whole point of slogging so hard...

btw...sir is a sign of addressing...if not sir...den what do i say rite in d first convo..ma'am???...neways...i guess u r most comfortable on first name basis..so that's fine wid me...

Chartered Accountancy [CA]" course is the BEST professional course in India. In other courses, people ask "Are you Civil or Electronics or Mechanical or IT etc?" or "Ahmedabad or Bangalore etc?" But no question is asked if you are a qualified CA, regardless as wherefrom you qualify. Let you be from Chennai, Bangalore or Ernakulam, let you qualify in May or November 06,07,08,09,10...

hey people.....CA is not a degree...course....its a CERTIFICATE course.
It is just a qualification to be eligible to be the MEMBER of the insitute which regulates its members.
Also, various laws in india consider the qualification....as defined in the Chartered Accountants Act.....so better refer the act....

Ca is not equilent to any graduation or post graduation degree.....only some univercities allow final pass students to persue Phd....but it doesn't means that CA is treated at par with M.Com....both are different..

 yes.

i attended the recent national convention held in siliguri and as addressed by the Board of studies very soon C.A. will be same as Masters and we can opt for Ph.d for further specialisation based on C.A. degree.

(Guest)

Please for heaven sake.. i PERSONALLY DONT THINK THAT THE UNIVERSITIES MAKE THE LIVES OF THE EXAMINEES HELL...DEFINATELY Graduation is not equal to Doing CA

MANY MBA INSTITUTES INCLUDING IIM'S CONSIDER CA TO BE EQUIVALENT TO POST GRADUATION.

HENCE CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS CAN APPLY DIRECTLY FOR FELLOWSHIP OR PHD. PROGRAMMES IN COLLEGES.
