Well, I am 26 years old n final student. I completed schooling in 2001 & grad in 2004.
Worked for 4 years in multinational banks & decided to pursue CA in 2009.
Quit job in 2009, cleared CPT in 2009, IPCC in may, 2010.
M now in final & offered 18000 stipend by one of biggest firms in Delhi for articleship because of experience but i denied since i want to study hard for final.
I joined a small firm @ 4000 pm since they provide ample time for classes & studies.
M loving my time as CA student & being appreciated by family & seniors.
I can certainly say, go for it if u can pull it off...
If you have any doubt in your mind, scrap it...

Entry to CA is easier comapring to MBA and cost is also low.. Since no Articleship is required u can Pursue IPCC just like other courses.
If U decided to pursue CA go a head with Strong desire & commitment....
Unlike other courses Hardwork is the only Route to Become an CA and to Work as a CA......
All the best...

I don't think you should. Had i been in your shoes, i would have definitely gone for some other course and not CA. By the way, why do u want to join CA now?

and dont forget u have to do it for 3 full years. around 5 years requried to complete CA, compare it what will ur positoon after 5 years if u go for job after MBA. after 5 years , u have to star ur career as CA as a freasher.
remember time period of 5 years can be less or increase as complteing CA is depend on clearing ur exam and not on certain period as in case of MBA. 5 years is avg period taken by studebt to complet CA.
Hi Arif,
Great answer. i have similar doubts in my mind. I am Gold Medalist in B.com and also in MBA and i am working as Business analyst in India's most reputed IT company. I have 3 years experience in Banking and Financial services IT products as Business analyst.
I also intended to pursue CA. but it will take 5 years n i have to leave the job where i am earning 7.5 Lakh PA.
Dear friends please let me know whether CFA will benifit in my career. I have registered for ICWAI also. But i am unable to justify that.

Hello Rajesh.
as u r earning 7.5 Lakhs P.A, it was wise desion to not do CA.
although i dont know much about CFA but heared that CFA from abroad institute particularlry from US has good weighted globlely. i dont advice u to persure CFA of ICFAI India.
as u said u r registred for ICWA and unable to justify, i would say that even study of 1.5 hours daily can do wonders, if seriously studied. there is a MOU between ICWAI and IMA USA, because of that u get degree(if apply) of IMA (Institute of Management Accountant) from US, on becomeing ICWAI member. remeber IMA US too has good value in job market globlely.

Hi Abhinav,
As per norms, anyone who wishes to pursue CA need to start from CPT. So register early for CPT

IF YOUR INTO FINANCCIAL SERVICE THEN BETTER TO DO CFA FROM USA ONE, ITS VERY GLOBAL COURSE AND HAVE GREAT SCOPE FOR THAT COURSE. IT HAS 3 LEVELS AND IF YOU CLEAR IT THEN YOUR POSITION AND PACAKAGE WILL GET INCREASE..CFA IS WORLD WIDE SCOE THEN CA..
BEST OF LUCK

Actually I am also planing to go for CA, after completion of my MBA( Final is on coming Aporil-2010-IISWBM). I know it is little hard to cop up with the decision specially when it is CA. I know it is really not to easy to stick with the decision. But still I wanna to take a chance.
What do u think frnd ??

CA is much better than MBA. Only premier institute's MBA can compete with CA.
I personally think u should go for it.
A professional normally works till age 70. Dont take it as 5 years too late, take it as 40 yrs too early.
A friend of mine enrolled for MBA with ISB at the age of 40. He had 2 children, wife was housewife. Was working at 28 LPA, as regional head. Was traumatised during studies but got package of 70 LPA, as country manager, after that. He is my best example.
