02 December 2010Hello all! I have taken up my IPCC exam and waiting for my result and this is the right time to decide about my articles.. Many of my Friends are confused regarding their articles.. Friends plz suggest me between Big 4 nd mid size firms..

In bid firms u need to do a lot a work so if you r having a potential to study along with that then u should join big 4 as they have a brand name and also you can have good exposure . Otherwise you should join such a firm where u r allowed to do practice in most of all the fields.

u can go in any one of them. as in Big 4 u will get exposure in big companies and in mid firm u can learn each and every thing, so if u want to go for practice then mid firm is gud otherwise big4 is best option.

According to me your first preference should be BIG4...but let me tell you BIG4 is not the guarantee of professional success unless you are not ready to capitalise the chance. So first try in BIG4...
Medium sized firms are always there to support...

I also head that work exposure are only in a particular field? is this true?
Is exposure to a particular area is good for future? please suggest me.

Expert knowledge in a particular field is very good and expected in corporates...However it is also advisable to have basic working knowledge of all related areas...Like finance, Tax, Audit Etc...

Hi,
Remember life is once make it large.When i heard this quote it was quite late for me but bro u still have chance.If u r provided chance to join barcalone or manchester united will you settle for any local team .same is case here.they say that in big 4 u have to work a lot.then bro ca is not a grocery shop, where you have to sit and enjoy.its all about work. and yaar think of links you will be making if you get a big opening.
to the extent coachings are concerned then trust these classes, for guys like me, are all masti ki jagah.in the end all that come to help are notes.further now is the time of satellite coachings.all big teachers are on satellite.so you shouldnt be concerned about that too.
If you join small firms then you will keep stuck in making returns of individuals and small works and when 3.5 years will be over you will look back and say will this help me in shaping my future.In big firms they have plan and if you have calibre and bit of daring they provide you chance to learn all work.
In the end one more thing,decide atleast tentatively if you want to practise or do job.and start putting more focus on such works.
finally you are the boss.hope you make a nice decision for yourself.all the best buddy.

I have qualified CA in Nov 2009, Presently can any one guide me whether Big4-(job profile Audit) is better or ICRA(Credit rating agency)-( job profile-Credit rating of SME Clients, evaluate P/L and B/S acc to credit worthiness) is better???????????????
