Depends upon which industry and what type of job you have selected.....But if you refer industry standards and my experience in corporate world for last 14 years...this amount is less.....You can look for a minimum package of Rs. 5 lacs to start with and can go upto 8 lacs based on your potential to negotiate.

25 grand for a qualified ca.. are you kidding me..dont join unless you are paid anything more than 50grand per month..remember if you start with a lower pay your hikes will also will be low..deloitte plays 20 grand for internship students. @ himanshu : you are expecting a pay of 17000 after you qualify? you must have stopped with b.com.

@ Harsh: Secure AIR in CA final, then you might be able to bargain salaries at will.
At present, if u try to bargain too much; the company HR will say,"Take it or leave it".
Similar thing happened during TCS interview @ Ahmedabad campus; when a bloke quoted Rs 8 lac CTC , while TCS were giving only 5.75L.
The interview ended then n there itself........within 5 starts of its inception.

i know what the market situation is and all..i ain't living in a village..my friends who are just graduates are earning 20000 a month..and my friend who cleared ca final in like 6 attempts just got placed in wells fargo for a whopping 9.6 lakhs..and if i were to work for a minimal 15grand per month pay i would quit ca right away..there is no point in doing then.and the market demand thing is concerned there is enough demand for ca's.may be the people who are working for 15000 are struggling with life or just afraid to come out of the hole..
fyi check job opps for ca'sin linkdin and you will know what am i talking about.
