Hi Can anybody tell me what are various form and returns we need to file with Excise authority.

what is monthly return form, what is PLA A/c What is RG23 etc. what is use of these

Dear Rajesh

Monthly excise is paid through form GR7 earlier TR 6 to be deposited by 5th of next month.Exact form for monthly return is not available with me.Further PLA account is used for payment of duty & record is maintained monthly.

RG 23 register is used to record daily production of goods manufactured.

Monthly excise payment will dpend upon ur SSI or Non SSI status if u r SSI than it will be 15 of followign month otherwise 5th of followign month

Other registers are RG 1 now known as DSA for recording production

RG23 is divided into two Part I and Part II

part-1 deals with the input u have bought duty paid and part 2 deals with duty paid on input

PLA is used as pass book to pay duty in cash it is used when u donot have enough cenvat credit in ur account

Hi Infromation given to me is quite usefull and all thaks to both of you.
but I am not much clear on PLA account. It is Ledger account we need to open in our book or we need to open bank account with some authorized bank?

PLA is like a passbook to pay excise duty interest and penalty You can deposit amount through TR 6 and the PLA will be charged this is utilised as you pay duty or you can understand it as prepaid telephone bill, charge it and use it if it get exhausted then again cjarge it
