@ anubhav.. i totally understand ur position man.. i too have many frnds who are currently in ca final and are not able to clear.. just due to a margin of very few marks.. that being said... CFA would definately broaden ur finance knowledge base making u more demaning in other parts of the world besides india.. it will DEFINATELY open a lot of new possibilites...ill pm u my details..

@ pucca idiot. chill man  ,. no need to submit form 112 with ICAI...

@ deepak .. ya they recognize degree through SOL Du.. dont worry.. just select the right option when u register on their web site... most people use schweser.. offical curriculum books are tooo vast just like icai modules. :P  and yes u will have to buy a financial calculator... get the TI BA II plus.

Hrllo espioage

First must thank you for providing us with so many useful information.

As for my query:

I am CA finalist(awaiting results), I am presently working as an assisstant auditor.

I am very much interested in pursuing CFA but as i was going through the site for details, I found out the last date for registration for giving June L1 was Sept and the fees have increased now.

So my main query is whether should I go for June L1 papers of wait for December L1

I also want to know when I will be completing my course in both the cases.

Thank you in advance

hello brother. i am very much delighted to see this thread .

i wasted 3 attempts in ipcc and now i am writing in may 2013. i am not very much interested in ca course. i   hav deep interest in stock market trading . i came to know that cfa degree equips me with sufficient knowledge for trading . is this true? (1st query). i know that a graduate degree is needed for joining in cfa. but i cannot waste 3yrs doing bcom.. so i am now planning to join in a university recognised by university grants commission which give a three year degree in one year . .i.e. one sitting bcom.. i dont know whether it is distance or regular.but this is a graduate degree. is this degree valid for doing cfa.(2nd query)in future if i want to quit ca, is cfa knowledge alone   sufficient for sustaining in corporate world(3rd query). thanks for ur patience and time . im waiting for your reply . please reply at the earliest.

thank you

regards,

vijay

@ dipak .. as  u are awaiting ur final results i am opiniated that you should first wrap up ca finals. before getting into CFA.

@ vijay... i am really sorry to hear about ur situation... dont worry .. god works mysteriously...

ans 1. Yes cfa throws tons of finance at you... it gives you theoretical knowlegde. but i think that you can be good at trading only once you get into it practically....

ans 2.  i cant really ans this one man.. but if it is a gradutate degree then you must be eligible i think..

ans 3. of course cfa is enough just network a lot.. ive seen guys with just a bcom sitting on the top..

@ venkateswaran

1. If u clear level 1 in june 2013 u will only be able to appear for level 2 in june 2014 coz level 2 and level 3 are conducted only once a year in june.

2. Yes passport is mandatory. U have to give ur passport number while getting registered for the exam.No passport means no exam.

3. Yes u are eligible..

Hi ..this thread is really informative...and i have some queries..Please help me out.

1. I am IPCC student and wish to join CFA..but i'll be completing B.com from Ignou after clearing both groups of IPCC...So does the CFA institue recognize B.com from Ignou ?

2.Is B.com compulsory for registration or for appearing for L2 exam..like can i register and appear for L1 exam ?

3. It requires experience of 4yrs..so can the 3yrs articleship period be counted in these 4yrs of experience ?

Hi espionage,

i am starting my cs executive right now , do you think it will be fruitfull for me to do cfa  along with  cs  and more over will my expeirence as cs  be counted or dose it have to specifically be in investment or related field . further more dose this course give me an edge in international market . just that  i dont want to do something  that dosen`t add value to my profile.
