Your final step in the ladder of the Company Secretary Course is the Professional Programme. The exam is conducted by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India twice a year, in June and December. Students who have successfully cleared the Executive Programme of the CS course are eligible to pursue the Professional Programme.

CS Professional Programme Subjects for the New Syllabus (w.e.f. 1 st September 2018)

The Institute for Company Secretaries of India revised the syllabus for the Professional Programme of the CS exam w.e.f. 1 st September 2018. The syllabus now consists of 4 modules, together with an elective exam. The list for the courses is given below:

Fees for the Programme:

The total examination Fees for the Professional Programme is 12,000 INR, which is divided in the following manner:

1. Registration Fees – 1500 INR
2. Exemption from Foundation Examination Fee – 500 INR
3. Exemption from Executive Programme Examination Fee – 500 INR
4. Tuition Fee – 9500 INR

Apart from this, the examination fee for the programme is 1200 INR per Module.

Last Date for submission of application:

The last date for the submission of application for appearing in the examination is:
a. June Examination – 25 th March (With late fees of 250 INR till 9 th April)
b. December Examination – 25 th September (With late fees of 250 INR till 10 th October)

Criteria for passing the CS Professional Programme

The student will declare to have cleared the examination if he/she obtains a minimum of 40% marks in each subject and a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of all subjects.

Medium of Examination:

The Institute of company Secretaries of India allows the student to write the examination in either English or Hindi, for all subjects of the Professional Programme.

Ans. No. There are only Subjective or Descriptive type examinations in the CS Professional Programme

Q. Is there any paper wise exemption while switching over from existing syllabus to new syllabus?

Ans. Yes. The Institute offers a provision for paper wise examination under various subjects and modules, which can be seen at https://www.icsi.edu/.

Q.  I have completed the registration process online. When can I get my study material from the ICSI?

Ans: Aspirants who have applied online need to submit their documents using the ‘Manage Account’ option available in their respective accounts. Once the documents are verified by the institute the application will be approved and the study material will be available for the student within 10 – 12 days of approval from the institute.
