Earlier when i was in PE 2, i hated Income tax, subject the most..... and now after clearing, its my most favorite subject, even favorite than accounts and finance.... As we have alot of updates and also if you specialise in this field you earn alot.....

Exams are approaching fast and as per my ealier forum it was told how to prepare in last 4 months...

Now just a short explanantion for scoring marks in Income tax:

Direct Tax:

a. PCC/IPCC:

- Dont waste time to remember sections. Its not compulsory to quote in exams.

- If you write wrong sections than marks will be deducted... So better write only when you are hundred percent sure.

- Try to learn small definitions of chapter 1 and 2. sometimes for better understanding it is required....

- Try to refer Bharat Ahuja. ( Singhania is also good but B. Ahuja is exam oriented. Short and to the point).

- Do not use Scanner for this purpose/subject. As for previous exams the problems are solved as per provisions of that year respectively.

- try to complete 5 heads of income first....than go for clubbing, TDS, advance tax etc.

-SOlve the solved examples. they are enough for practice... In short time do not go for unsolved examples....

- Also be updated with the updates if any.

- Refer to the book of case laws which is available from the ICAi branch... Very usefull for exams....

- Presenation matter alot in exams.. So be careful while solving problems. Also refer to suggested answers to know the presentation style which the ICAI wants....

b. Final

- Everything remains the same. books, presentation style etc.

- As  you already know 5 heads of Income, first start with PGBP as it is in deep in finals. else heads are almost same.

- Than go for the new topics of appeals, amendments etc......

- do daily 30-40 pages to cover whole syllabus atleast one time.....

Best of Luck friends...
