Ram is a successful Chartered Accountant. He cleared his CA, CS & DISA - all in the first attempt.
During his preparation days, everybody used to tell Ram that he was a 'किताबी कीड़ा'. He used to study for hours. He had a unique habit of reading each word of the book. He never used to leave any part of the Study Material. He never believed in selective studies.
While his friends were always busy with 'what to leave' while preparing for examinations, he used to be busy with going through and reading every page and every topic. He had only one goal - "I have to understand each word of my study material." He never used to leave anything on chance. He never believed in the Paper setter. Rather, he preferred to believe in himself.
I asked him about his viewpoint on "Why do students not clear their examination in the first attempt.?" I was mesmerized by his free-flowing answer. Let's know what he told.
"Maximum students fail because they leave so many chapters or topics untouched and unprepared during examinations.
Just to avoid that extra hard work, missing favourite festivals, favourite movie & marriages, the students kill their time and they have to leave so many topics untouched to make up that time.
How can we risk our 6 months by being over-selective? That is a wrong strategy. Cover every topic. That enables us to atleast attempt every question. And yes, there is step marking. We keep getting 'छोटे छोटे मार्क्स', and soon we touch the magic mark of 40.
There is a famous quotation in Hindi - "बूंद बूंद करके घड़ा भरता है| In the same manner, a few marks from all questions lead you the Passing Marks."
So, we can have the following takeaways from Ram's experience.
While Preparation:
1. Don't leave any topic untouched.
2. Target to complete your course.
While Examination:
1. Don't target to bring rank or pass in the first attempt. It creates pressure. Let that happen automatically.
2. Don't leave any question unattempted.
Plan!! Act!! Shine!! Clear exams in the first attempt!!
