What is TAX? Who are we offering it to?
Towards whom are we doing a duty by paying
taxes?
Tax is a vital part of our lives. It is the duty of
an individual or any form of organization to pay
tax. The Government asks us to pay tax and its
philosophy is pay it yourself, i.e. voluntarily.
While there are many actions of the
Government that seem to be imposing a tax
regime, but the core of the philosophy is a self
declaration of duty.
In terms of a philosophy tax is a duty. But it is a
duty towards whom? Is it a duty towards the
Government, is it is duty towards the poor, is it
a duty towards the development of the
country? There are many opinions on the
matter as to whom are we doing a duty
towards. But I have a clear and concise answer
that eradicates all confusion. Tax is a duty
towards our soul. The Soul of a person or a
body of people craves a payment of tax for the
huge benefits they enjoy of being part of a
nation. Being part of a group of people, called
the nation, is a matter of very big excitement
and our soul feels happy when we pay tax.
Many people hide paying taxes and shirk from
it; others avoid it and don’t disclose tax liability.
Well it is an injury to the soul if you do all that .
The soul feels happy and relieved to pay taxes.
So the next time you pay a tax, think that is
your soul which wants to, and feels relieved.
Perhaps nobody feels so happy as much as your
own soul when you pay a tax.
Tax is a duty towards your soul. Can you trick
your soul?
