PRESS RELEASE 11 March 2016 CHIEF OF BUREAU The Institute of Company Secretaries of India Celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2016 at New Delhi The Institute of Company Secretaries of India Celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2016 at which was attended by women employees of the Institute. ICSI WOMEN TEAM CS Mamta Binani, President ICSI being in the Paris during the International Women’s Day expressed in her message to all the employees of the Institute that Eight day of March is celebrated as International Women’s Day globally by the United Nations. It celebrates womanhood and pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of women around the world and across the globe. This day, we celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of Women in order to promote gender parity in every sphere of our lives. Being a woman myself, it gives me immense pleasure to convey my hearties wishes on this day as President, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. My wishes are not only for women but also for the men who respect, motivate and contribute to the lives of women, be it as father, brother, son, friend , colleague or in any other capacity. I as a Woman believe in interdependence and I wish the Society a happy intertwined life. CS Binani also expressed that God has gifted women with an exclusive combination of beauty, compassion and intellect. I wish all to celebrate the spirit of womanhood not only today but everyday. In Indian corporate governance context, this Women’s Day is also special as many women are now part of Boardrooms in India after SEBI requirement to introduce gender diversity. CS Vineet K Chaudhary, Council Member, ICSI while addressing the gathering spoke about the women empowerment and said that behind every successful man there is a woman who plays a critical role in converting house to home and also takes care of entire family . A woman plays multiple role in life of one as a homemaker and other as a professional/business person. While emphasizing on the empowerment of the Women he expressed that women of today need to be empowered fully and duly represented in every sphere of life.
