I am CA Chhaviraj Joshi. I qualified CA in November 2003 and since then have worked in various industries and CA Firms in the areas of Accounts, Finance, Taxation, MIS and Audits. In my free time, I update myself in the various CA subjects where my knowledge is inadequate and also keep myself updated on the general knowledge, current affairs and read books on self development.
My area of expertise include accounts and finance, though I am fairly accurate in MIS/Statutory Compliance work also. During my student days, I was interested in theory subjects, which helped me a lot in subjects like Corporate Laws, Audit, and theory portion in costing, Finance etc.
I am also interested in the field of Direct Tax Litigation (Appeals, ITAT, scrutiny, assessment procedure etc) As per my opinion, a Professional's expertise is evident from how he handles and represents his client in front of the Legal Authorities and wins the case.
I believe that CA is a profession where many subjects are constantly changing, example : Income Tax Act, Companies Act, FEMA, ICAI Guidelines, etc. and you should have a curious nature to learn and understand the latest legal provisions and how you will apply the same in a given practical situation when a client approaches you for some work.
There are two aspects, one is the fundamental knowledge of any subject which remains the same, and is not affected by the amendments/new developments and other aspect is that part of the subject which changes due to the amendment of the laws by the legislature. We sholud be confident of ourself that we will refer the books, websites, software, attend seminars or by any similar study method, we will update our knowledge and complete the given tasks in a accurate and and time bound manner. Thus, confidence and desire to excel is the key to success.
