No.1-CA(5)/74/2023.—In pursuance of sub-Section (5B) of Section 18 of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, a copy of the audited accounts and the Report of Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the year ended 31st March 2023 is hereby published for general information.
74th Annual Report
As the Country is celebrating its 75 years of Independence and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of it’s people, culture and achievements and is embarking on a new journey in the Amrit Kaal, ICAI is also contributing towards this ceremony to enable Prime Minister Modi’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India also celebrated its 75th Foundation day on 1st July 2023. The ICAI supports the theme of India’s G20 Presidency – “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth – One Family – One Future”. Also, for India, the G20 Presidency marks the beginning of “Amritkaal” the 25-year period beginning from the 75th anniversary of its independence on 15th August, 2022, leading up to the centenary of its independence, towards a futuristic, prosperous, inclusive and developed society making India Vishwa guru Bharat.
This emerging India is now becoming a driving force for global growth and the ICAI is always committed to contribute towards the economic development of India and it will continue to be the custodian of public interest and welfare as Partner in Nation Building. Today ICAI has achieved global recognition for maintaining highest standards in technical, ethical areas and for sustaining stringent education and examination standards. Chartered Accountants are indeed having been key pillars in the growth history of emerging India. The Profession has been making significant contribution to Indian Economy as a crusader of public interest which has been recognised and acknowledged by the entire stakeholders of community. The Council acclaims its members and students for the respect which the Chartered Accountancy profession commands today in the society. This has been achieved through excellence, independence and integrity displayed by the members and students all along. The Indian chartered accountants have succeeded in meeting the rapidly changing demands of Nation as a whole to achieve the dreams of 5 Trillion US Dollar Economy.
