Govt Ban on export of edible oil

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 1.3 and Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments to the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import items, 2004-2009 as amended from time to time :

With effect from 17.3.2008, the following new entry shall be inserted after entry at Sl . No.67 in Chapter 15 under Schedule 2 of ITC(HS) : -

2. Transitional arrangements allowed under Para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, shall, in public interest, not be applicable to the ban imposed above.

3. The ban imposed vide this Notification shall be applicable for one (1) year from the date of this Notification.

4. This issues in Public Interest.
