In a move to streamline tax payments, the Income Tax Department has expanded the list of banks available for tax payments through the e-Pay Tax service on the e-Filing Portal. Currently, 30 banks have been enabled, including both newly onboarded and migrated banks.

Key Highlights
- New Additions: Recent banks added to the e-Pay Tax service include Dhanlaxmi Bank (June 26, 2024), IDFC First Bank (Nov 27, 2024), and Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd. (Mar 5, 2025).
- Major Banks Included: The list features top private and public sector banks such as SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Punjab National Bank.
- Seamless Tax Payment: The integration allows taxpayers to make direct tax payments conveniently, reducing dependence on offline methods.
With this initiative, taxpayers now have more options to pay their income tax, advance tax, and other direct tax liabilities efficiently.
