OIL MINISTRY SOUGHT SCRAPPING OF 'SERVICE TAX' ::

The oil ministry has sought scrapping of service tax on exploration activities on the ground that spike in global rates for hiring rigs and other services such as geological data analysis have put huge pressure on domestic oil hunters even as they are making less money on oil sales due to the strengthening of the rupee against the greenback.
