Lok Sabha passes Finance Bill with no debate due to COVID-19 outbreak

The Lok Sabha passed the finance bill 2020 today without any debate. The Finance Minister announced no package for fighting with the adverse effects of COVID-19 in the house neither did she throw any light on the extension of the Financial Year or statutory due dates. The leaders of the opposition demanded a  finance package before the passing of the finance bill but all the parties eventually agreed upon to pass the finance bill without discussion so that parliament could get adjourned without taking any longer. The speaker said all parties have agreed to pass Finance Bill without any argument. The Lok Sabha adjourned sine die nearly two weeks ahead of the scheduled date due to coronavirus outbreak.
