The Income Tax Department in Srinagar has announced a special drive to address taxpayer grievances in Jammu & Kashmir, scheduled for the first week of October 2024. This initiative aims to provide taxpayers with a dedicated platform to raise concerns and seek resolutions for income tax-related issues.
According to an official release, the drive will be conducted in two phases - first from October 3 to 5, and second from October 7 to 10 at the Aaykar Bhawan in Rajbagh, Srinagar. The Principal Commissioner of Income Tax for J&K, Vikram Sahay, will personally oversee the proceedings.
Sahay emphasized the department's commitment to improving taxpayer relations by offering timely and effective grievance resolution. He stated, "This special drive aims to enhance taxpayer satisfaction and ensure a smoother tax filing experience."
The drive will focus on resolving various issues, including rectification of assessments, duplicate PAN concerns, and e-Nivaran queries. Taxpayers are encouraged to participate actively in the initiative to resolve their pending matters.
This move reflects the department’s effort to streamline tax compliance and foster a collaborative environment for taxpayers in the region.
