ICAI President Clarifies Misinterpretation of Finance Minister s Comments on Chartered Accountants

Clarification made by ICAI President is as follows

It has come to our attention that recent comments made by the Hon'ble Finance Minister during a program in Bengaluru, which was attended by members of the Chartered Accountant community, have been taken out of context and misrepresented. We wish to clarify the intent and content of the speech. In her address, the Hon'ble FM profoundly acknowledged the dedication and professionalism of Chartered Accountants. She commended the integration of technology in the accounting practices, noting how it has significantly benefited both CA professionals and clients by enhancing efficiency and transparency.

Further more, she underscored the pivotal role that Chartered Accountants play in the Indian economy, describing their service to taxpayers as invaluable. The Minister's comments were intended to celebrate the contributions of the CA community to the nation. We urge our members to consider her remarks in their entirety to avoid any misinterpretations that may obscure the positive message conveyed.
