According to the department's statement, the investigation revealed numerous irregularities, including misclassification of tax rates, wrongful availing of Input Tax Credit (ITC), and unaccounted sales. These discrepancies were identified through data analysis and actionable intelligence gathered by the Enforcement Branch.

The SGST Department highlighted that such search-and-seizure operations are part of their ongoing efforts to curb tax evasion and ensure compliance under the GST regime. The investigation is expected to continue, with further action likely against the identified coaching institutes.

This development underscores the SGST Department’s focus on scrutinizing sectors prone to tax non-compliance, aiming to safeguard revenue collection and promote fair practices.
