GSTN issues advisory on the filing of GSTR-9C

The due date for filing GSTR-9C that is 31st of January is approaching near. Tax practitioners are struggling with certain issues regarding OTP, Error while uploading Balance Sheet and the Profit &Cost Statement. In respect of the error while uploading the Balance Sheet the Profit &Cost Statement. The GSTN issued an advisory on the filing of GSTR-9C, which is as follows:

Issue: Error while uploading Balance Sheet and Profit & Cost Statement while filing GSTR- 9C. 

Solution: Balance sheet and Profit & loss statement/income & Expenditure Statement keywords used in office network firewall/content security filter firewall to deny upload of such files/content as these contain sensitive information. If this will be used on an open network all such mentioned documents can be uploaded successfully.

The main issues reported by taxpayers on 23.01.2020 were on OTP delivery. 

1. SMS delivery: System logs are being checked and the problem will get resolved today. 

2. Email Delivery service: Email delivery was affected due to security blocking of a particular email server of an email Service provider. This issue has been resolved.
