The CA students protest which lasted for 4 days has finally ended. The protest was trending on social media, garnering support of thousands of students from all over the world, including some political influencers.
A Press Conference was organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India where the President of ICAI- Shri Praful Chhajed announced that an expert independent committee will be formed which will look into the matter. If the committee deems it fit, necessary action to amend the law might be taken.
A prominent faculty who was leading the protest was in talks with the Council body of ICAI. He assured the students that the committee will check the answer scripts of the aggrieved students. The faculty and students cooperated with the decision of ICAI and seemed to have restored their faith in the system. On a positive note with a hope that the expert committee will provide appropriate remedial actions, the students and faculty have agreed to call off the protest.
