In a recent episode of the popular game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati," contestant Vandana Parik, a former officer in the GST and Income Tax department, took the hotseat after Rupak's exit. Hailing from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, Vandana brought a unique perspective to the show, shedding light on the intricacies of tax compliance.

Amitabh Bachchan, the iconic host of the show, engaged in a conversation with Vandana about the challenges faced by common individuals in understanding and adhering to the evolving tax regulations in India. Big B humorously remarked, "It's great work but a bit scary work for us. First of all, we don't understand. So we have to call people like you to help us."

Vandana shared insights into the dynamic nature of tax laws, emphasizing that they get updated every month, and the rules are subject to frequent changes. She explained, "GST practice began a few years ago, and the tax area in India is vast. So it will take time."

As the conversation delved into the complexities of taxation, Vandana posed a question for Rs 1000, testing contestants' general knowledge. Her question, "Which of these is often a flat board hung on chairs, to be movable?" had options A. Swing, B. Chair, C. Sofa, D. Stool. Vandana correctly answered option A, showcasing her broad knowledge beyond the realm of taxation.

The educational session continued as Vandana guided Amitabh Bachchan through the concept of TDS (Tax Deducted at Source). Big B expressed his gratitude, stating, "I thought you are talking about currencies and ringgits are Malaysia's currency. Never mind, I learned about GST and TDS from you."

However, Vandana faced a challenging question for Rs 40,000 related to international tourism. The question, "If you were paying 50 ringgits to visit the Petronas Towers, in which country would you be?" had options A. Ghana, B. Indonesia, C. Spain, D. Malaysia. Despite using the double dip lifeline, Vandana's initial choices of C and B were incorrect. The correct answer was option D, Malaysia.

Vandana, with her positive spirit, took home Rs 10,000, leaving a lasting impression on the show. Her appearance not only added an element of educational entertainment to KBC but also highlighted the importance of understanding tax intricacies for the general public.
