CBIC does away with expiry/renewal of Authorised Economic Operator certification after every three years for AEO-T1 entities

It has been decided by CBIC that w.e.f. 1st August 2021, all AEO-T1 entities certified on or after 01.04.2019, shall be auto renewed in the system, without any end date.

CBIC reduces compliance burden by abolishing renewals of licenses/registrations

The net effect of the amendments carried out to the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2018 and Sea Cargo Manifest and Transhipment Regulations, 2018, is that the existing licenses/registration would have a lifetime validity.

CBIC proactively places a COVID Response Plan (CRP) for speedy clearances of COVID-19 vaccines at all major airports

CRP provides for setting up of a COVID-19 Vaccine Response Team (CVRT) at each Air Cargo/Courier Terminal. The CVRT will function as a single point of contact for all the clearance related to COVID-19 vaccine shipments.

There have been news reports that Cairn Energy has seized/ frozen State owned property of Government of India in Paris. However, Govt. of India has not received any notice, order or communication, in this regard, from any French Court.

CBIC determines rate of exchange of foreign currencies w.e.f 4th June 2021

CBIC notifies Ad hoc Customs Exemption on Imports of COVID-19 relief material Donated from Abroad

Earlier, this exemption was notified till 30th June 2021, however, considering the drastic impact of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Government on 31st May 2021 extended the same to 31st August 2021.
